Neuro-Muscular Relaxation

Head massage is a great way to melt away all the stress and tension and its perfect for those over analytical thinking minds. This massage is also great to improve the appearance and hair growth for both man and women. According to Ayurveda (Indian medicine), a healthy beautiful head of hair requires an ongoing care routine that starts with nourishment. In this Massage we will massage the scalp and hair with warm oil, infused with hair-friendly herbs, since this is the best way to nourish the scalp and hair topically. Not only does the massage work wonders for your hair, but it also relaxes the mind and nervous system. The oil for the massage can be customized by hair and body type. If your hair is thin, dry and frizzy and prone to split-ends, you have Vata hair.

If you have fine hair prone to premature thinning or graying, you are Pitta-predominant. If you are predominantly Kapha, your hair will tend to be thick and oily. As an added bonus the hair and scalp massage can help promote sleep.

Hand Nero-Meridian System is connected to the Whole Body !

Actually a massage of the arms and hands, Japanese Hand Massage is a unique blend of shiatsu and reflexology.  Shiatsu (Japanese from shi, meaning finger, and atsu, meaning pressure) is a traditional Japanese healing art. It has its roots in ancient Oriental medicine and has evolved from traditional Chinese medicine and Anma, a traditional Japanese form of massage. The philosophy underlying Shiatsu is that vital energy (Qi in Chinese, Ki in Japanese) flows throughout the body in a series of channels called meridians. For many different reasons Ki can stop flowing freely and this then produces a symptom. Shiatsu can be beneficial for a wide range of conditions, from specific injuries.

to more general symptoms of poor health.  Shiatsu for the hands uses touch to affect the flow of Ki in the meridians and techniques include gentle holding and pressing with palms, thumbs and fingers on the meridians. As the quality of the Ki changes, the symptoms associated with an imbalance in the movement of Ki will gradually improve. Shiatsu is a therapy that works on the individual as a complete being - the physical body and also on an emotional and/or mental level.
Anyone who has ever experienced a good hand massage will sigh with pleasure at the recollection. Our hands are one of the most overused parts of our body and work very hard, but in general they are sadly neglected.   Even if we visit a salon for a treatment we will often only leave with beautiful nails and will probably have missed one of the greatest little physical luxuries one can experience - a hand massage.  A good hand massage will help tremendously to de-stress, open energy channels and create a feeling of well being.   A Japanese Hand Massage lasts about 30 minutes and we call it a Mini Session and can be added to other Mini Sessions as our Head massage or Foot massage.Japanese Hand Massage Traditional Chinese Medicine Meridian Benefits :

What is Foot Tuina Reflexology?

In Ancient China and Japan & India Micro-systems included hands / feet & Head. These Micro-systems are interlinked with the entire body and are used for both Therapy or Preventive Health Care as well as as Relaxation which the ancients knew was a form of Preventive Medicine. The added benefit of these ancient Tuina Massages is that there is no need to disrobe & since these systems are interlinked with Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine & the Power it holds in aiding healing.

Bodywork from Thailand is a powerful Medicine. It is massage that has a 5000 yr history and is used by many for Stress relief plus to address health concerns. Our Integrative Reflexology is a marriage between the ancient healing arts of Reflexology, Chinese Tuina, Japanese Shiatsu and Indian ayurvedic yoga. When we do Foot Reflexology we are still working on a meridian so a session will cross up to the Knee. Reflexology is offered either on a massage table or chair. Working with the feet, lower leg and knees, this 5,000 year old, highly reputed session frees up blocked energy within the body’s many sens lines (Thai- based meridians) to produce a deep and unique feeling of balance, relaxation and well-being.

Thai Foot Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumbs and fingers to stimulate nerve endings in the foot, hands and ears. Its basic philosophy is that the foot, hands and ears each hold reflex areas that mirror and connect to all parts of the body. Nerve ending stimulation helps to eliminate energy blockages to different parts of the body, including organs and glands. These energy blockages are thought to produce pain or disease in the related areas and by moving energy, or ‘chi’, through the body the results can be quite profound.

Over 50,000 nerves find their way down to the feet! Hence, a proper foot reflexology session can leave a client speechlessly in total relaxation and for some who are really in tune with their bodies the benefits cross even further into Healing organ systems ! Many people who are in tune with their bodies use the sessions to nudge the body into the right direction - and it often appears to work. Most people use the sessions along with therapy from other health providers as there really are few to no contraindications to Foot reflexology.

What to Expect?

During a typical Foot Massage session a Thai practitioner will apply a special Thai balm and use a variety of hands-on techniques including graceful two handed palm movements, stretches, circular massage movements and thumb pressure. The Practitioner needs to have very strong hands and fingers so as to adjust pressure into specific acupressure /acupuncture areas so as to stimulate organ reflex points on the soles of the feet. Clients leave the session feeling relaxed, balanced and invigorated.

Benefits Include:

  • Improved circulation in feet and legs
  • Stress reduction and relaxation
  • Improved mood and mental clarity
  • Better and more sound sleep
  • Accelerated physical cleansing and healing
  • Increased flexibility of feet and joints
  • Reduced pain and stiffness
  • Your Privacy intact- no need to undress
  • Reinforces your Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture sessions

To receive this Foot Reflexology massage according to tradition, it is important to be comfortably seated with the feet resting on a footstool.

A mix of creme and oils are progressively applied on the feet and legs for a duration of an hour.

When we are aware that our feet support 100% of our body weight and that 7000 steps on average are inflicted upon them daily... we owe them the respect that they deserve!
